The Global Entrepreneurship Week New Zealand team would like to thank our sponsors, event hosts and participants for helping us make GEW a smashing success! We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
NZX (New Zealand Stock Exchange) and GEW-NZ, together with entrepreneurs, business leaders, and government personnel commemorated the events from the past week and the closing of this international celebration.
Speakers such as Mark Weldon, CEO of NZX, talked about the importance of continuing to stimulate creativity and entrepreneurship within New Zealand. Following the speeches, these important figures led a question/answer panel to address the guests’ questions and concerns. This event was a fantastic opportunity to mark the progress already made by our country and set our sights on future goals.

E-Day encourages entrepreneurs to take their idea to the next level
As part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009, the e-centre, Massey University’s business incubator, has invited anyone with a business idea to talk to an experienced e-centre expert during Tuesday’s Entrepreneurs Day (E-DAY).
“15 local entrepreneurs sought advice on the day and it was great meeting such a diverse range of people of all ages and backgrounds; but they all had something in common- a great passion for their idea and the courage to do something with it.” says Sabrina Nagel, Business Analyst at the e-centre.
“The E-Day was an excellent opportunity for the e-centre to reach out to the local community and encourage individuals to embark on the entrepreneurial journey. Once passed the idea generation stage, the e-centre offers start-up companies the opportunity to move into the e-centre to benefit from on-site mentoring, workshops and the access to extensive networks.” CEO Steve Corbett adds.
If you have missed E-Day but you would still like help hatching YOUR idea, book an appointment at the e-centre incubator by contacting sabrina@ecentre.org.nz.
