Meet the Lions
With six of the world's fastest growing economies over the past decade located in Africa, the case for Africa's evolution onto the global economic scene is evident now more than ever. As the continent's economy continues to provide unparalleled opportunities, Africa is on its way to becoming the next big investment destination.
In an effort to continue its mission to strengthen the capacity and connectivity of African startups, entrepreneurs, and innovators, infoDev and GEW will host Meet the Lions, a competition to identify pioneering entrepreneurs coming out of Africa. The purpose of the competition is to recognize new companies that have developed real-world solutions through their revolutionary businesses, while also exhibiting the potential to spur economic growth that is both sustainable and scalable.
The competition will highlight the entrepreneurial talent and spirit that exists on the continent and motivate the future of African innovators. Moreover, with LIONS@frica's unique platform as a champion of entrepreneurship in Africa, the goal is to develop a network of mentors working across borders to continue to drive the continent's economic development.
