Global Entrepreneurship Week / Nepal

The King has left the building

    The King is gone.

The King has stepped down and the monarchy has been disbanded peacefully with no incidence. Surely, more than ever before this is a defining moment for the Nepal. It is a fantastic intermediate step towards consolidating democracy.

Events in Nepal are demonstrating what a critical time it is to spread entrepreneurship.

We have new organisations partnering with us every week to help build a culture of entrepreneurship in Nepal but we still need more. The more events we can hold, the more youth we will reach and the better chance we have of stopping the brain drain and starting a new era of investment in Nepal.

We still need Sponsors and Partners

If you want to help teach the youth of Nepal about entrepreneurship, contact us and join our list of distinguished partners. Each partner will hold an event in Nepal during GEW, speak about entrepreneurship, hold a class or a workshop or put on a competition. Incon in Kathmandu will help arrange any logistics and all partners are given access to a full suite of promotional materials.

We are still also looking for a primary sponsor. Nepal is a poor country and as a not-for-profit event we need help paying for venues and advertising to help raise awareness.  10,000 GBP would pay for all advertising and venue rentals. An additional 10,000 could allow us to fly-in business school professors and entrepreneurs to help raise awareness and share their knowledge. Effectively a 20K investment could help reduce unemployment in Nepal by a third.

Our sponsor's logo would be advertised on all publications and events as well as given unprecedented access and exposure to the emerging business leaders of Nepal - the next Asian success story

Global activities to link all countries

In addition to thousands of activities being planned by partners , a few signature activities are designed to connect bright young minds across the globe.

Unleash It!

While there is no shortage of challenges facing the world today, countless ideas never come to the surface—leaving problems unsolved and opportunities missed—simply because no one stopped to consider them. Unleash It! uncovers these challenges—then links them to enterprising problem-solvers.

Before we can unleash the ideas of the next generation of entrepreneurs on the challenges of today, we need your help in identifying those challenges – no matter how big or how small. Anyone can post a challenge, e-mail your challenges to challenges [at] unleashingideas [dot] org

Speed Network the Globe

Networking is a skill that serves everyone—whether they ever consider starting an entrepreneurial venture or not. Organize a speed networking session in your community and enable local young people to sharpen their networking skills—talking to each other, local entrepreneurs, potential investors, community leaders, or anyone else interested in learning from – and sharing with – others. E-mail cspavin [at] unleashingideas [dot] org to learn more about what you can do to help network aspiring entrepreneurs.
