17 -19 Nov 08 (1ST NATIONAL YOUTH ENTREPRENURESHIP SUMMIT) THEAM: UNLEASHING IDEAS: TURNING JOB SEEKERS INTO JOB CREATORS The National Youth Entrepreneurship summit is to create a platform for Youth entrepreneurs and aspiring young entrepreneurs to network, collaborate and share their entrepreneurial knowledge, experience and initiatives for the benefit of other youth in the community. Attendees will participate in exciting workshops, explore companies featured in our exhibit hall, and receive a compelling message from our keynote speaker such as Rev. Dr. Kwabena Darko (MD Darko Farms Ltd) , Prof. Jophus Anamuah-Mensah (Former Vice-Chancellor University College of Education, Winneba ) Quinn Conyers (CEO of Speak2Society LLC , DC USA), Bremley Lyngdoh (Founder and CEO of World View Impact UK )Richard Osei-Anim (Founder and CEO of Richard Anim Group) Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh(Head of Databank Research & Information Ltd (DRIL) Databank Ltd.) Mr Jens Thang (Teaching Fellow Mealtwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology ) and many more . Under 30’s will be asked what development problem frustrates you or a segment of the population, which could even be in the community. The teams will come up with a solution or software problem or create plans for a devise that will be developed to address the problem VENUNE: BUSY INTERNET ACCRA –GHANA TIME: 9AM – 4PM 21ST NOV 08: THE BIG DEBATE Student from various universities in Ghana will join students in California polytechnic State University via video conference to discuss on how Youth Entrepreneurship can contribute in achieving the UN Millennium Development goals by 2015 Venue: Busy Internet Accra Ghana Time : 7:00 - 8:00 pm Ghana Time 22ND NOV 08: STUDENT! MAKE YOUR MARK CHARLLENGE Student from the senior secondary schools in Ghana will be brought to gather for a short workshop on how to make the ideas become a reality, after that they will be put in to groups with support of mentors to develop a social enterprise ideas venture which will be run in their school. They will pitch their ideas to a panel of Judges which will be made of Academicians, Entrepreneur’s , business mangers and community leaders. The school with the best innovative idea will receive a cash price , mentoring and other support for the new social enterprise venture .The aims to inspire students within higher and further education to be more entrepreneurial – be it by starting their own business or within the workplace. Making an enterprising idea happen whilst at college or university is a creative way for students, build their confidence, team working skills; communication skills learn new skills and make useful contacts. VENUE: Bediaku Hall (Teachers Hall) Time : 9am – 4pm

Rev. Dr Kwabena Darko, Founder and Board Chairman of Darko Farms & Co. Ltd have accepted to be an ambassador for the Amazing week in Ghana. Rev. Dr. Kwabena Darko heads one of Ghana’s most successful private enterprises, Darko Farms & Co. Ltd. He is the principal shareholder of the family enterprise, which produces more than 50 percent of Ghana’s day-old-chicks, and a large proportion of its table eggs and dressed chicken. Darko has advanced poultry science in Ghana, receiving numerous awards of recognition for his contribution to the field. He said “I often tell people that when I was young and struggling , some body gave me a chance “ he says “All I want to do now is to part of something that give young people the same chance to succeed”. He will be speaking at the 1st National Youth Entrepreneurship summit to share his story with young people in Ghana. Rev. Ghana had a  partners meeting in the UNDP CSO office in Accra. Highlights of the meeting were the readiness of all partners to make the programme sucessful. Dream Ovals agreement to be the Communications partners for the event. Other partners are ready to work on sponsorships,media networking and pubilicity for the programme.
