Global Cleantech Open Ideas Competition

Cleantech Open Global Ideas competition is a search for breakthrough cleantech ideas in one of six industry categories; air water & waste, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building, smart power and transportation. Entrants answer questions online and develop a short venture pitch on video. Through regional and national competition rounds, the best teams progress to the Global Finals in Silicon Valley on the 8th and 9th of November 2102. From Saturday 10th to Wednesday 14th November, the international teams will participate in training, mentoring sessions and additional activities that will connect them to potential partners, customers and investors from Silicon Valley and around the world.

New for 2012 – For the first time this year, we are running a sub-competition specifically aimed at young cleantech entrepreneurs between the ages of 10 and 24. The Cleantech Open Global Youth Competition is a search for big ideas from the net generation of cleantech entrepreneurs that address today’s most urgent energy, environmental and economic challenges. Importantly, this new competition inspires young entrepreneurs to not only tackle key energy, environmental and economic issues but to specifically devise sustainable businesses ideas that could generate much-needed jobs for young people. The Global Youth competition utilizes the same hosts, processes and tools as the Global Ideas Competition but with specific age requirements and judging criteria.
