Entrepreneurs, NGO’s and other who are passionate about helping create startups joined together for the White House Celebration of Global Entrepreneurship. The event was held as a precursor to the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 11-12.

Held at the White House, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, SBA Administrator Karen Mills, and Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Nides opened the event which was streamed live from the White House website. While each speech focused on different aspects of how to best support entrepreneurs, each recognized the value of coming together to celebrate how powerful entrepreneurship can be.

In addition to the US perspectives on entrepreneurship, H.E. Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs for the UAE shed light on how entrepreneurship has made the UAE the country it is today.

The event also featured several panel discussions on highlighting youth entrepreneurship, addressing the skills gap, building and enabling a better policy environment and strengthening access to capital.
