The Inauguration of Global Entrepreneurship Week took place on November 8th, 2012 in the seat of The Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan.

Invited guests had the opportunity to meet Polish finalists of the Get in The Ring contest and hear about research being done on youth entrepreneurship in Poland and around the world. Representatives from “Enterprising Poland” Foundation, the U.S. Embassy in Poland, the Lewiatan Business Angels and Amway Poland all joined the lively discussion.

During GEW, participants can sit in for a lecture about American businesses and U.S. entrepreneurship at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, where an interactive session will take place covering the topics of U.S. and Polish entrepreneurship.

The Malopolskie Voivodeship’s E-business Festival Conference is wholly dedicated to technologies and tools of the “Post-PC” era. Mobile platforms, monetization methods, mobile markets in Poland and technical aspects of creating mobile websites and applications will be the key topics covered by nationwide-known panelists such as Marcin Zaremba (LoveMobile, O2 Group), Paweł Sołyga (NUI Group), Bartłomiej Pucek (Business Dev, Mobile Consultant), Katarzyna Orzechowska (Socjomania) and others. As part of the aforementioned conference, a contest will be launched to seek the best concept for an internet service or mobile application.

The “Business written with a lipstick, or ladies’ entrepreneurship” event in Pomorskie Voivodeship, will revolve around questions such as: Is femininity an advantage in business? What values, beliefs and characteristics led women entrepreneurs to where they are now? Can career and successful private life be in balance?

The inaugural Startup Boat Contest in Łodzkie Voivodeship has grandiose ambitions – they aim for integrating the startup community by a multiple-round pitch competition which will be judged by Andrzej Styczeń (Łódź Regional Science & Technology Park), Paweł Tomczyk (Academic Entrepreneurship Incubators in Łódź), Łukasz Felsztukier (iTaxi.pl), Adrian Kornacki (Youth Forum of PKPP Lewiatan in the Łódź Region). The winning idea will qualify to the UPRISER Contest Finals, where the prize is one million zloty (Approx. 300,000 USD) with the chance for further financing.

Amongst the numerous activities organized during this week, the “Meeting with a millionaire” in Lubelskie Voivodeship stands out. Who does not dream of travelling to hidden corners of the globe? Sławek Muturi, the guest of this special event, who is also the head of Mzuri Company, will talk about his adventures which literally took him to every single country in the world.
