South African Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship acknowledges and participates in the global GEW celebration by sharing valuable business tips, information and inspiration with its participants. A series of talks, seminars and workshops are held in Johannesburg every day and according to local sources, the programs attracted a full house the centre being packed to capacity on both days.
Monday’s theme was ‘Inspiration’ with Deshun Deysel as keynote speaker. Deshun was part of the first South African expedition to Mount Everest in 1996 and shared her story and the experience of climbing the Everest with her audience of 60 students and aspiring entrepreneurs. To her, this journey is a perfect metaphor for the entrepreneurial journey.
The theme for the second day of Global Entrepreneurship Week was ‘It’s All About The Money’ with Nedbank representatives sharing tips on personal budgeting and business tools around small business finance. Entrepreneurs were able to ask questions pertinent to their businesses during a Q&A session and discuss access to finance.
Organizers claimed that there has been great media interest in their activities during this important week at the Branson Centre. In addition to coverage on the likes of destinyman.com and entrepreneur magazine online, Tracey Webster (CEO, the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship) has been kept busy with interviews on local and national radio stations, in national Sunday newspapers and on television.
The week when the world celebrates entrepreneurs is far from being over, so make sure to check the Branson Centre site for more programs in the next days.
