Israel opened their week on Sunday with a repeat of their successful Beer Tech events. Throughout Israel local entrepreneurs from the tech world spoke to aspiring entrepreneurs in bars around the country. The entrepreneurs told their story and answered questions all with a pint in their hand.
Guyana is once again participating in GEW. The Guyana Youth Business Trust has organized a handful of events throughout the week. They opened with a symposium at the Borrowes School of Arts promoting entrepreneurship to persons involved in the visual arts on Monday. There will also be an airing on national television during prime time of a one hour discussion with 5 entrepreneurs on their challenges and how important it is to have good mentors. Finally the Week will conclude in Guyana with an awards ceremony held to honor the entrepreneurs and mentors. At the event the idea of “passing it on” will be a consistent theme.
Belarus has once again grown their campaign this year to include over 45 expert speakers and more than 800 entrepreneurs at some of their key events. Their International Entrepreneurship Forum will start tomorrow with speakers from USAID, prominent CEOs and the Minister of Economy, Nikolai Snopkov. Other events include the ICT Conference/Startup Day with more than 350 entrepreneurs participating. The winner of the Belarus Mentor of the Year will be announced. And potentially biggest of all the BEL.BIZ Battle where 1 million Euros will be awarded to Startups that pitch their ideas to investors and a global audience
Cote d’Ivoire is taking part in their first GEW and with a short time frame to put the campaign together have set up a number of activities for this week. They will hold the first Startup Weekend in Abidjan with the Minister for Youth, Charles Blé Goude. They will also have a poster campaign and various networking events occur throughout Abidjan.

Qatar launched their campaign on the 11th with a Business Simulation game with Shell and in partnership with the Bedaya Centre. The launch was followed by a Gala Dinner with welcoming speeches from Dr Tarik Yousef, CEO of the Host of GEW/Qatar Silatech, and Noora Al Mannai, CEO of Enterprise Qatar.
